Sorry to say but this is not an econo car. It will average around 24mpg (city/hwy). Best you can do is keep up on the regular maintenance (tire inflation, oil&lube, air filter, plugs and don't carry a bunch of junk around in the car. Reducing weight helps. Above all though is easy on the gas peddle! I have a 2010 manual impreza and I am averaging 30.6mpg but I drive mostly highway and take it eay on acceleration. Good Luck.
