What is your question?
I gave it a tune up and three mechanics later. They still can't give me an answer. They hold my car all day and in the end they tell me. Well it could be this, that, or maybe something. Everyone is afraid to work on my car. Today they said the diagnostic didn't pick up anything. So they think the coils need to be changed. "They Think" that's over a $300.00 job for two. The car is sluggish, it feels like it is about to shut down, but it did shut down once but I was able to turn it back on fast. Also it shakes when I drive it pass 55 mph. Three mechanics and they can't tell me what is wrong w my car. I am about to go to mechanic school to learn how to fix my own cars!! :/ so frustrating Shed any light pls Thank You

Hello, first, I'd share that having compassion for the technicians working on your Subaru is a good start. Sometimes, there is no "for sure" diagnosis. Sometimes, the concern is hard to nail down, and you have to resort to theory, instead of verification of failure. This means that sometimes, technicians -- even you, if you go to "mechanic school" -- can analyze all the data but in the end, there is no totally clear answer. In this case, you make recommendations based off of symptoms, not confirmed failures. And you can get it wrong! But, based on educated guesses, you can also be accurate. I would allow technicians to spend an unlimited time frame (several days) to figure out what is going on with your Subaru. With additional time and effort, it might be easier to have some clarity as to what is failing.
Thank You Dave.. This morning it shut down over ten times within 20 min ride. I had to turn back and I just dropped it off by my mechanic. I won't rush them. I was able to get the misfire codes all lead to cylinder issues that can be Air/Fuel mixture, Fuel Leak or congestion or coils/spark plugs which I rule out spark plugs bc they are brand new. We will see if they can fix it. It's not that it can't be fixed. My mechanic thinks some jobs can't be done. Thats the confusing part for me.
