What is your question?
Problem began 2-3 days ago. Seems to be overheating sporadically but engine doesn't feel hot. Takes a while to blow warm air. Temp indicator H to mid-range off and on. Could it be the thermostat?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing either way.
How long has your 2002 Subaru Forester had this problem?

Could be but it can also be low coolant. Check your coolant level first with the engine cold. Top off if low and report back. If it's not low at all and the engine fan is working and the radiator and condenser don't look clogged you can replace the t-stat. If it's original then it's time anyway.Use this link to find a good shop near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
