Lots of Lights Going off Blinking and a Loss of Engine Power while driving, why?

What is your question?

VSC OFF; Slip Indicator; Check Engine Light and possibly the Electric Power Steering Light and all came on at once and were flashing while I was cruising up a hill at about 32 mph. I have 116,000 miles on the car. I had the radio and heater on doing my normal suburban road 7 mile drive to work. I definitely lost engine power and became very sluggish, and was just trying to make it to the side of the road. After about what seemed like a minute I reached the top of the hill and all the lights went off and power came back to the engine and began to drive like normal. Any Suggestions of why this might be happening? How to prevent from happening again?

Sounds like it could be an engine misfire under load. All the lights coming on are not something to worry about that there is a major problem. You need to have the computer scanned for fault codes, that will clue you into the problem.

Thanks, I wasn't so concerned with all the lights coming on as I was the loss of power while driving. I will definitely go get it checked out.

i have a 2008 scion xb 165,000 mi , my scion is doing the same thing. i changed out the plugs, coil pac wires, fuel injectors cleaned and rebuilt, replaced number one fuel injector. the car is now running worse. this problem gets progressively worse. the car now barley runs. the transmission has now been affected because the rpms have been retarded. could it be that vvt-i sensor? currently i am awaiting toyota to replaced my engine for a recall on over oil consumption. a computer diagnostic showed the readings on the catalytic converter to be off the chart! I could barely sit in the car because of the raw fumes. so replacing the aforementioned components will not stp the problem. I am currently awaiting a check on the vvt-i sensor

My problem recently is a little different. I have a 2008 Scion XB with 114,000 miles. A week ago the Power steering light, VSC light, BRAKE and ABS light all lit up. The vehicle ran fine, no problems. I took it to local Toyota dealer and they did a diagnostic test. Turns out it was both rear speed sensors. They quoted me $1500 plus tax, I negotiated $1250 plus tax. My final bill was $1278.10 Hope this info helps. Good luck.
