If the electric power steering went out can I still drive the car

Have you already taken it to the dealer to be diagnosed??? There are only a few parts involved it the electric steering so it may be expensive to repair but there is NO way to tell if someone has not diagnosed it properly. That needs to be the very first step. Once you know what is wrong then you can shop around for the repair but until then everything is a guess. It could also be a simple as a loose electrical connector. I would tell you that until it is diagnosed I would not drive the car very much.
