So I’m having an issue with my power steering.

So I’m having an issue with my power steering. So my battery light is constantly on but the power steering works for a bit then cuts out. Yesterday I was driving and my whole dash lit up with lights power steering went out, then about a mile down the road the whole dash went out. Gages weren’t working lights nothing, when that happened I turned off my A/C and everything came back on with all the dash lights and no power steering. Any ideas on what is causing this?
