The oil changing light is comming on and staying on for awhile. Then it goes off. I just had the oil changed in June and I don't put 2000 miles on the car in a year. Does the oil sensor need to be replaced?

The oil life system must be reset after every oil change for it to work properly. If the system indicates that an oil change is necessary, do so within the next 600 miles. Ensure your engine oil and filter are changed at least once a year, and remember to check your oil regularly. If the system is accidentally reset, change your oil at 3,000 miles since the last oil change. Reset the oil life system whenever the oil is changed.
