Car suddenly has loud thunking noises from underneath

What is your question?

Driving home car was fine, then after a stop sign heard loud clunking noise. Thought it was a flat, but no. Kept happening sporadically the rest of the way home. Loud clunking noise from underneath, sounds like it is coming from center of the car. Didn't see anything hanging from underneath the car.
