Hello, Brake wheel cylinders are for drum brakes, are extremely inexpensive, and do not require the brake shoes or drums to be replaced unless they have been soaked in brake fluid. If the brakes work, and there is no leak, the wheel cylinder is good. Any leakage at all, or a wheel cylinder that will not release/engage the brake means replace.
