About how many miles should I hope to get out of a 1998 Saturn SL2 1.9 L-4?

I dont think that you will see much over 250,000 miles from the cars service life,it depends on the city driveing and the numerous times of starting up engine. And driveing in cold climates, and the same habbits in hot weather. And if you use oil additives as STP,LUCAS,OR SLICK 50, which all are good, and if you change oil at 2500-3000 mile intervals, and filter, and if you drive on dusty roads, you may want to change air filters more often and change the antifreeze at least 2 yr intervals! Dont ever over heat the engine, ensure that you service the cooling system and pressure check the radiator annually!Hoses belts thermostat are another important thing and water pumps dont last fore ever Oh yes water pump lube is good investment as well.USE OIL VISCOSITYS THAT MEETS THE TEMPERATURE CHART IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL.Avoid jack rabbitt starts!A manual transmission will extend the ring and bearing life over an automatic trans. The driver counts about as much as all the above!!This car may have a aluminum block, which is good for fuel mileage but bad news if overheated!
