I can not afford 400.00 to get it fixed that is how much my mom paid when her window did not work. I have a 1997 Saturn SL2

I would shop around for pricing. i estimate it at 200-250 for parts and labor. Roy
This is a very easy fix if you are a little bit handy, what you can do is remove the outer door skin with a tork #30, then get the window down to about half way then you will see 2 white tabs to slide the aluminum rail that holds the window, press them in so the rail can be removed from window them look in the rail (track) you will see the plastic piece that the regulator goes in, you will probably see that it is broke in half, that is what needs to be replace 90% of the time, you can practice removing them at a junkyard.
