Motor hard to catch when engine hot

What is your question?

I have a question about my Saturn, when I crank it several times through the day, it takes longer for the engine to catch. I have to pat the gas sometimes, it seems to happen when the motor gets hot. I stop at a store, come back out and it's hard to crank. I'm afraid I'm going to get stranded out one day, especially with the weather heating up--thanks for your help.
