What is your question?
Smelled strong gas smell INSIDE car when started, also strong gas spray when engine is on. Spray stops when engine is off but could be leaking still. Gas gauge shows gas is getting low really really quick when car is running. Left car with a shop. Any ideas what the problem could be? Estimated cost and how long to fix? This shop charges a lot.

Sounds like a fuel line or hose has broken. This will need to be inspected by a technician and you should not drive or run this car at all until it's repaired. Best bet is to disconnect the battery and have it towed to a shop. They can quote you once they find out exactly what's leaking. If you don't normally work on your car then use this link to find a good shop near you that can diagnose the issues. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
Thanks Alex. Shop said fuel line from fuel tank to fuel filter should be replaced. Also suggested replace fuel filter. Sounds expensive. Questions: Can he patch or replace the defective section only? What is a reasonable solution for this problem? What is reasonable cost for parts and labor? How long does the fix take? If it is too expensive I am thinking to donate the car. It has 70k plus miles but it is old.
