How can I set or ready one of the following? Evap, O2, or Cat monitors? I need to have one more set as I'm allowed to have two that are not ready. I have tried several different starts, driven several hundred miles and I do no have a check engine light and still get over 30 mpg as car runs fine. The three are Evap, O2, and CAT Thanks. Bill

If you have driven for about 25 miles the monitors should have set. Now, the cat monitor needs you to drive at 50 mph for 4 miles. By then the 02 and cat will set. If not then there is something stopping the monitor from running. Without a proper diag equipment you cant tell. Make sure that whoever does check it for you is certified ASE L-1 and also a CT certified emissions repairer. Anyone with those credentials will have the proper equipment and training.
After numerous attempts to reset four monitors, EVAP, O2, EGR, and Cat I took my car to Monro Muffler/Brake Service in New London, CT, they drained my cooling system, installed a new thermostat, and coolant sensor and the engine temperature got high enough to reset all four monitors and I'm pleased to say 1998 Saturn passed CT Emissions today, October 17, 2015 after dealing with this issue since May 21, 2015.
