Significant pressure under cam cover. Cracked head? Head gasket? Any common problems anyone is aware of?

How about a plugged PCV system? Otherwise, it could be due to excessive blow-by from the pistons. I think a cracked head or leaking head gasket would pressurize the cooling system, not usually the crankcase. Be sure that there isn't coolant in the oil, it'll look opaque brown if there's coolant in it.
