replacing starter

you have to get behind the engine for the starter i had the same problem on a 97. you can see from the top if you look down in the back towards the bottom. to remove it thats the fun part. you have to lay down reach your hand up by the block and you should find it, if you do it yourself you will need a socket wrench and an extension. I hope you have small hands and arms because you go up a foot in a small hole than the bolts are to the left. you can't bend your elbow. good luck!!!!
