I have a 2001 saturn ls2 that is shifting hard intermediately. I've been told the throttle position sensor if faulty can cause this. that guy blowing smoke or should I check it out? what are the voltage specs for this model? thx for any help in this.

I would recommend checking the MAF (mass air flow) sensor. It's between the air filter and the throttle body...really easy to pull out. You can probably pick up a can of MAF sensor cleaner at your local auto parts store, it might do the trick. Otherwise replace it, I believe this is a common problem on the LS2 (I replaced mine)
