is there some sensor that causes the car to cut off and wont let it run.

You need to have it ck for codes prob. a Po727 crank sen. were very comm. but unless it stored a code a tech need to ck . it while the prob. is there.

i would check fuel pressure. yes, there are sensors but no need to throw parts at it till you find the exact issue. Roy
