Had a plug in computer check and it reads data but no codes. Think it is a short in wires or loose conection to body control computer, HELP PLEASE.

I have the same issue, but now the fuel and temp gauge have totally quit. It may be the Body Control Module. This is a popular issue with Saturns!! I haven't found a fix have you??
I found that it is also probably the body control modual or BCM. I found one but have yet to pick it up. It is mounted on top the glove compartment. I to hope it solves my problems as the car is great except for that problem. Good luck Chuck
I tried replacing it before but unfortunately I had a BCM from a car that was two model years older and of course it wouldn't work!! Now I'm getting codes that say misfire but I don't know where it's coming from. There were no codes before. Plugs or O2 sensor? What would be your best guess??
First need right BCM and second it may have had to be reprogramed for your car. Ithink they have to reprogram it at a dealer or sjhop that fixes Saturns. There are different part numbers for differnt models too.
All new parts have a relearn procedure including the BCM. You can do it yourself but the only thing that doesmt work is the mileage transfer. When installed from a different car it will read the other cars mileage lol. If your not selling it, then no big deal. If the BCM is brand new, I would try the relearn before taking it to any dealer. Follow the steps below to perform the Passlock relearn procedure. 1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. 2. Momentarily rotate ignition switch to START position and return to RUN position. DO NOT start vehicle. 3. Wait a minimum of ten minutes. 4. When SECURITY indicator light changes from a flashing or on state to an off state, turn ignition to OFF position. 5. repeat steps 1-4 two more times (for a total of three times) If the ignition switch is turned OFF before the SECURITY indicator light changes state, the relearn procedure must be restarted. The car should start on next ignition cycle.
I will be getting my BCM this week. I wonder, as I was told that they do not all have to be reprogramed. Do you know if that is true?
Usually, you always have to do the relearn, but sometimes you get lucky and they start right up. The problem is the security issues you will have and start up wont work unless you perform the relearn.
