what can happen when dashboard security light blinks

It probably is supposed to blink as a decoy. Check with a dealer to be sure.

Same thing happened to me. I called AAA for help and they walked me thru disarming the security. Try this: Close & lock the doors, then put the key in drivers door to open. It actually worked for me.
