07 Saturn Ion series 3 throwing P2240 code .
What is your question?
This code just appeared today, car seems to run fine. Erased code P2240, not sure how long it will take to resurface. What does this code mean? Thank you for your time.

This code is Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Open Bank 1. On this Secondary Air Injection system there is a pump and a control valve,also known as a shutoff valve.The control valve opens and closes to allow the airflow produced by the SAI Pump to enter the exhaust system.The control valve on this vehicle also has a pressure sensor built into it so the PCM can monitor AIR system pressures.Before this type of control valve was developed,the PCM monitored the upstream oxygen sensor to evaluate the AIR system operation.DTC P2440 indicates that the AIR system does not meet expected pressures.
