I think it is important to verify and check all components plus all battery cables and connections to ensure everyone is in the right place and not compromised. My gut instinct without testing is that your battery - even new - does not have a sufficient state of charge to be able to successfully crank over the engine. It might be "brand new" but it may not be fully charged to sustain this load. Best to perform hands on testing of the battery and starting and charging system before jumping to any conclusion.
