2003 Saturn Ion Will replacing the ignition switch cause the BCM and ECM damage

Hello, There are many many ifs in the scenario that can describe how these can be damaged, but they can also fail on a 14 year old vehicle very easily. The ignition switch talks to the body control module which talks to the ECM. Again, there are too many questions involved to pinpoint and say that someone caused the failure, especially given the age of the vehicle. It is possible, but I would expect the control modules to fail right away.
