Recently my car sounds like a motorcycle when I drive off. Flex pipe? Muffler?

Thanks for replying! It would happen upon start up and increase upon acceleration at any speed. I drove out to Long Island over Easter weekend and took it to a mechanic. It was the flex pipe. Now it's purring like a kitten....lol.
