"flex pipe? muffler?"---does the noise happen in park , while revving the engine?? OR is it ONLY when accelerating ? Does it start at a particular speed over or under 20MPH? Change at all when turning or coasting?

Thanks for replying! It would happen upon start up and increase upon acceleration at any speed. I drove out to Long Island over Easter weekend and took it to a mechanic. It was the flex pipe. Now it's purring like a kitten....lol.
