When I push down on the accelerator to go faster the car dose not pick up speed.

This is not a clutch in an automatic transmission with me or my transmission is running sluggish like it's not picking up speed

Well you don't specify if the engine is revving up or not , and yes automatic transmissions have multiple clutches to slip! Otherwise , is the check engine light on? May need to have it test driven and scanned for out-of range readings .what is the engine doing when yiou step on the gas?

The engine is revving up..but it only up to 4mp. Then drops
