Hello, The headlight relay would turn off both lights at the same time. If the left light is going on and off, test the ground to see if it is properly allowing the headlight circuit to ground to the chassis. They become corroded, dirty, rusty, etc, or you may have an open circuit between the relay/fuse and headlight.
