If I remember correctly the hood opens with a mechanical latch. You need to pull the release arm, however the battery is in the trunk. Zee

Purchase a lighter jumpstarter. Pep Boys about $30. Open the door manually. Insert the lighter jump cable into the Porsche lighter and the another car. This will give you enough charge to open the hoods and do a real jump.

As a follow up to this, buy a battery tender with the lighter adapter. One caveat, you will also need to change your lighter receptacle (a ten minute job) since the receptacle on my '99 Boxster was not the standard size. Once I did this, I just kept the battery tender plugged in and don't even worry about a dead battery even when I don't drive the car for months.
