Cost to fix/replace drive bearings in the transaxle

I realize this post is old so current pricing to replace rear wheel bearings at my Chgo.area import shop is $650 per wheel.Labor est.is 5 hrs.and bearing cost 70 to 140 if S model.Is good idea to pack new bearing even though its sealed.
