Air condition fan speed blows hi and low while driving or idoling

My pontiac has the same problem and is still under warranty. The mechanic at the dealership said that the flaw was the design of the A/C system for the Torrent. Apparently, most cars use an orifice tube for A/C, but the Torrent uses a thermal expansion valve. Those don't cool very well when it's hot. So, if it's not very hot, your A/C should work just fine, but when it's hot - you're pretty much screwed. Sorry to tell you that it's the way they manufacture the car, but it's not a fixable problem. Wish I'd known about that before I bought the car.
