replaced everything in fuel tank car tries to start but wont also fuel gauge doesnt work

We just had this problem, minus the fuel gauge not working (I think), and after a $1600.00 repair bill it needed a new fuel pump. It also need a rear wheel hub/sensor replaced since our traction control had been messed up for a while-it would grind like heck when it tried to engage and our ABS light was on. Anyway car just quit on evening on way to town, would crank and sound like it wanted to catch and start, but wouldn't. Needless to say it was around $600- +labor. FYI-going back to shop in the A.M.now it surges when first started in neutral and is running so rich on fuel it is blowing white smoke that smells like my brothers streetbike when he races AND we are getting a whopping 200 miles or so per tank of fuel- I think they kinda messed something up. Code reader states the oxygen sensor is showing it is running lean so of course it is dumping more fuel to run. Hubby seems to think they will make us pay for this repair-God please help the one that won't listen to me and explain in major detail why I must pay and what this came from side it was not a problem when we had it towed there a week ago. I have had the car back 6 days tomorrow. Sorry to go on and on, but don't want to see anything like this happen to you, or anyone else. If u know anyone w\ a code reader-i would give it a shot. Our Torrent is a 2006 and has approx. 43,000 miles on it, we bought it new. Best of luck-
