What is your question?
I have a 2007 Pontiac Torrent that gives heat sometimes. In the morning its cold and in the afternoon its hot. In 2018 of December, a dealership tested the car for error message and found none! The comment made was it was the heater core. I tried other auto places and none mentioned heater core because sometimes there is lots of heat . 15 days ago an auto repair said it was in the Control System. Now I am not sure which way to go. Friday, November 8th a Auto Repair says it was my radiator leaking, and water pump with bad hoses and that my coolant was low. Which previous repairs shop did not find. Saturday Nov. 9 another repair said there was no leak whatsoever in my car and that it the coolant is going low it might be withing the engine. I smell nothing ! Help Elayne
What makes this problem better or worse?
I am not sure but I kept the control dial off and my temperture guage fluculated and fan came on If I turn the dial on I did not hear the fan nor did the temp needle move
How long has your 2007 Pontiac Torrent had this problem?
No heat since 12-2018 after having a sensor replaced. The dealer found no failure test and said it was heater core

Hello, lots of guessing gong on and no one doing a proper diagnostic test -- which is understandable, unless you're paying for the troubleshooting. There are not going to be any "error messages" or trouble codes associated with this concern, so that's a waste of time. To understand possible causes of your concern, it is important to understand how you get heat inside your car (in super simple fashion -- it's more complicated, but here you go...) Before you can get heat inside your car, you need your engine to get hot, to the point where it is beyond when the thermostat of the engine opens -- about 195 degrees or so. When this happens, coolant circulates through the entire system, including through the heater core. The heater core is the part inside the dash that the fan blows through to give you heat inside the car. If the heater core is restricted, you will not get hot air. If the engine is not getting hot enough, you will not get hot air If the engine is hot enough and the heater core is hot enough and you still do not get hot air, you could have a climate control issue inside the vehicle, which is preventing the proper hot / cold temperature blend as desired. If you have internal engine coolant leaks, this creates additional variables that can affect hot air inside your car. But it's way too premature to jump to that conclusion. You need hands on testing by an expect, and enough of the guessing. Good luck.
