Speedometer not working properly

What is your question?

I was driving home and noticed my speedometer was at 20 shut my car off it stayed at 20 by the time I got home it was at 60 has stayed there since I parked it. When I disconnected the positive side of battery the needle went back down to 0 not sure if it’s the speed sensor or the stepper motor or something else
