What is your question?
Someone suggested the lines are dry and try turning key on for 5 seconds 3-5 times. Don’t know if that is a valid observation but tried it. Didn’t work. Would parts fail just sitting for three weeks? Never had any problems or noises before sitting for the 3 weeks.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing better or worse.
How long has your 2002 Pontiac Sunfire had this problem?
It sat for 3 weeks and tried to start 3 days ago. It does have gas.

Hello, no - that's not a valid observation. With the key on, fuel pressure supplies fuel to the engine fuel rail pretty darn quickly. The vehicle was operating perfectly prior to the 3 week pause? I would be thinking of possible moisture influence to ignition components, like plug wires causing interruption of spark. But that's a wild guess! Hands on testing is really required to find out what is going on. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
