How do I replece a fuel pump in a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire? I don't want to take it to a shop.

best thing to do is to go here and pay a little to get the correct info. You will have to remove the fuel tank to do this job. http://bit.ly/alldata_repair_manuals
you jack the back of the car up,let the axl hang down, so u got room ,there is two straps u have to un bolt ,take the filler neck loose ,and u will have to dril some pop rivets that is in the heat shield , pull the heat shield out. once it is hanging disconect the fuel line and wireing and wiggle it out of there, then take the fuel pump out by spinning the ring counter clockwise and it should be free to take out.
