My solstice gxp turbo 2.0L leaked about 1 1/2 cups of antifreeze a couple of days ago. I didn't have any problems while I was driving, no overheating or anything. I parked the car and then a couple of hours later went out and saw the fluid. Since then, I haven't seen any leaking and the fluid level is fine. If the water pump were going out, wouldn't it leak continuously? I wasn't driving the car any differently than I do any other day. I looked under the car and saw water dripping from the metal bar/axle that runs from wheel to wheel. It was just to the right of the center. I haven't seen anything leaking since. (that happened two days ago). Thanks for any assistance.

Yes it could very well be the water pump leaking. You could have had debris inside the cooling system disturb the seal and then move on. I would highly recommend having the cooling system pressure tested and inspected for leaks and any signs of leakage. Let us know if you need any assistance with this. Freedom Automoitve
