Having problems with blower motor?

What is your question?

My heat is stuck on high without the option of being able to adjust the temperature as well. Even if I shut off the car the blower motor continues running so I have been disconnecting the cable under the glove box that attaches to the motor itself. I've done some reading on trying to figure out how to fix this, but I've found that there are a lot of "solutions". Any one have this problem and figured out a way to fix it? Since this problem has started, the rear defrost won't work as well, possible relation? Thanks!
