What is your question?
Im having an issue with my 98 grand prix. It runs hot (doesnt over heat) and the fans seem to be running slow. According to the gauge in the car everything is fine when Im running down the highway doing 65mph-70mph . Once I exit the highway thats when it starts getting hotter (gauge reads about 210*). Do the fans have a high speed and if so do both run at a higher speed or just one? Im trying to figure out how exactly the are supposed to work so I can diag them to see if theres an issue or not.
What makes this problem better or worse?
when hot
How long has your 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix had this problem?
a couple weeks

210 is totally normal. The fans do have 2 speeds and usually the high speed is on with the ac on a hot day that you are driving at low speeds or traffic. Try turning the ac on and see if your high speed works. But overall 210 is what most modern cars run at.
Replace engine thermostat and coolant temperature sensor.
Both have been replaced. Along with the radiator and water pump .
Recommend ‘professional’ scan test. Pro quality scanner can run functional test on cooling fans.
My Ac is no longer working . The compressor died and a couple of the lines have holes in them. (Cant seem to fine the lines). According to my scanner the temp is about 12* higher than the gauge in the car is reading. When the cars gauge is reading the 210* the scanner says its about 220* which has me concerned. In the 20 years Ive had this car I dont remember it ever reading close to 210* on the gauge. I drive 60 miles a day for work and I dont want the car to over heat. Ive gotten one fan to work on high speed manually triggering it but the passenger side fan doesnt work at speed just the lower speed. Not sure if its supposed to work at high speed. Im thinking it should. Im figuring I can wire up a switch to control the high speed fans just need to know if both fans have high and low or just one.
