What is your question?
I have a 1997 grand prix. The fuel pump won't prime. Replaced fuel pump fuse, relay and pump. Was told it was an electrical issue. I noticed three wires were melted on the turn signal wire harness. It seems these wires have nothing to do with the fuel pump, just for the blinker, high beams, wipers and cruise control. Even though it is not related would it have anything to do the fuel pump. I tested the fuel pump with the multimeter and I'm getting a reading.

What does "fuel pump won't prime" mean? Do you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail? I do not see any concern with wiring at the multifunction switch causing a fuel system issue. However, I cannot really say what your symptom is. Carry out a fuel pressure test and bleed down test at the fuel rail with the key on and engine off and start from there.
Naturally you’re getting a reading on the multi tester as there is also voltage present for the FUEL GAUGE sender that’s mounted on the fuel PUMP module.. Melted wiring is never to be dismissed as a potential problem - there certainly could be more wiring damage that’s not visible .. At this point, your best route it seems is seeking *hands-on* assistance from qualified personnel that has the proper testing equipment. I totally agree it is indeed an electrical issue. Good luck!
