On new electric fuel pump for PontiacGPLE3.1 does the black plug get removed?

It's a 93 model and has the original pump in it. We checked all the books and according to parts store they don't make one just like it anymore.

Remove just the inlet and outlet .... nothing else!!!

I've got too much in it to quit. LOL! The motor and the handling are great. It's just this electrical crap. I found out the car had set for quite a while. Thanks my friend. I think I have it now :)
