Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your G6. If the radio itself is functioning well but the light panel is out, you might not need to replace the entire radio. Often, the issue can be a simple connection problem or a blown fuse related to the illumination. Check the fuse box for any blown fuses that might control the radio's lights. If the fuses are good, the problem could be with the wiring or the LED lights themselves, which can sometimes be repaired rather than replaced. In some cases, a local audio shop might be able to help troubleshoot and fix the issue at a lower cost than replacing the entire unit. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
