Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! The P0420 code does indicate an issue with the catalytic converter, but adding a cleaner shouldn't typically cause your car not to start. Here’s what you can do: First, double-check to make sure there’s no loose connection on the battery posts or something simple like that. Sometimes adding a cleaner can stir up debris in the fuel system, which might clog the fuel filter or injectors. If everything seems fine, try to reset the system by disconnecting the battery for about 10-15 minutes. This can sometimes help clear any temporary issues caused by the cleaner. If it still doesn’t start, you might want to check the spark plugs and fuel system to see if they’re getting fuel and spark. If these steps don’t work, it might be best to have a professional take a look to avoid further damage.
