doing a oil pan gaskit got all the way to where i need to pull the oil pan off but the transmishon in my way and the pan wont drop down

Hello, The G6, like many GM models, the V6 models require the transmission bell housing to engine bolts to be loosened one half of one inch, and the engine and transmission must be slightly lifted to remove the engine mounts to accomplish this. Once the engine and transmission are slightly separated, the oil pan bolts can be removed, and the oil pan has a little room to wiggle out. Ensure you do not move the oil pick-up tube and screen while removing or installing the oil pan. This will cause incorrect flow of oil through the engine, resulting in engine failure due to oil starvation, or a spun crankshaft/rod bearing.
