I own a 1997 Pontiac Firebird V6 3.8 Liter. I have replaced just the bracket 2 times now. The first time I replaced it was because the bracket snapped and same thing happend with the new bracket so I was fixing it yet again for a 3rd time. The 3rd time I changef the bracket and the A/C compressor and here I am 3 weeks after getting it fixed again the bracket snapped yet again. Can anyone help me?

All I can think of is something is out of align or there is a missing spacer or washer. I have never heard of a problem like this. If your using GM parts that should be good.
Sounds like you need a heavier duty bracket
That maybe the case. Where do I find one? This last one I had to order from GM.

Around The Corner Auto Service: They are breaking in the same spot. Also you are the 3rd mechanic that has told me they have never heard of this problem. I am starting to wonder if the car is jinxed. Just kidding.
