A/C relay switch

What is your question?

i have a 95 Pontiac Firebird Formula and they the only way i can get the ac compressor to kick in is to use a jumper cable on the relay switch to give direct power to the ac compressor. My question is, There has got to be another switch or relay before the power goes to the compressor once it leaves the main relay.

should have a switch by accumulator unplug and jump switch side with wire if compressor comes on replace switch
