If battery voltage drops below a certain threshold the computer and electronics on the car will not operate properly but that voltage threshold is about 9 volts or so. Put a volt meter across the battery at rest engine off it should be 12.6 volts if fully charged, engine running voltmeter should read 14.6 volts.
