I installed a used transmission now my steering wheel does not lock in park. My dashboard indicator does not show park . What could be the problem.

Susspect transmission linkage out of adjustment... at the transmission... Possibly the range selector switch as well, it's there at the linkage on the transmission also. .. Apply park brake and turn key on .. shift to (R).. Reverse lights on??
