Why does my 3.8 engine overheat no compression in surge tank no leaks fan works new radiator installed 2 months ago gets up to 240 upper and lower hoses feel about the same temp could catalytic converter cause this

Engine heats up in 8 to 10 minutes idleing, did not change thermostat yet because upper and lower hoses feel about the same temp I don’t hear any noises in engine, engine does not want to idle after heating up

What makes this problem better or worse?

Gets worse as engine runs
