When I'm driving for about an hour my car will shut off. My Temperature gage will read high. When I start my vehicle again it trying to Idol but then shut off . I would have to let my car rest for while then it'll be fine until my temp gage goes up.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Letting it rest for awhile

If your temperature gauge is going up so high that your vehicle shuts down, then you have some kind of serious cooling system problem. This could be external (such as cooling fan or thermostat) or could be internal (such as cylinder head coolant leak internally). Serious damage internally can occur with just one overheating occurrence -- so beware that there could be an initial problem (like a cooling fan issue) and a resulting problem (like an internal engine concern). Testing is required to find out what's going on.
