What is causing blue smoke from tailpipe and how much should this cost to be fixed?

Black smoke is an indication of too much fuel. White smoke is an indication of coolant system problems such as blown head gasket. Blue smoke is an indication of internal engine problems, piston rings or bad valve guides, either way its expensive but without a tech trouble shooting the problem its hard to give an estimate
Blue smoke is from oil burning in the engine. A diagnosis will need to be performed to determine the source of the oil leaking into the cylinders.
a fix clean is to first drain your oil..then fill it with diesel fuel for a coulpe of days.. this will clean all the internals of the engine. DO NOT STRart vehicle with gas in engine... drain completely..make sure it sits for a few hours while draining- new oil and filter..always...
