What is your question?
The gear selector moves freely up and down on the steering column. But the transmission never engages. It's as if the gear selector is not attached to the transmission. What could be the problem?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Never happened before.
How long has your 1990 Plymouth Voyager had this problem?
Just started this morning.

I think you are on to something. YOu will need to visually inspect the linkage at the transmission to make sure its still connected. Alex
Shifter cable has a tendency to pop off of the shifter tube under dash .. Parking on an incline puts extra pressure on the transmission parking pawl - then when shifting into gear - the cable can become dislodged from the shift tube at the bottom of the steering column . Just something I have fixed in the past. In any event .. That's indicative of shifter cable 'circuit' failure > On one end OR the other.
Usually the cable socket can be 'snapped' back onto the shift tube ball .. Best to use parking brakes when parking on an incline.
